Why homeowners came to Danken, in their own words

“Even our “little fixes” have been nightmares in previous experiences with other companies, so working with your crew was an amazing change.”

Act II · What goes in

Surfaces chosen for what is inside them.

Danken names its materials in its own project notes: Cambria Brittanicca Warm quartz, an Elkay quartz sink, a Delta Essa faucet, Johnson Alehouse European Oak. Here is what their makers say is inside.

Section drawing through a Danken sink run: faucet valve, quartz countertop, quartz sink, cabinet and engineered oak floor 2.0 mm

Countertop

Cambria quartz

  • Pure quartz, pigments and binders cast into slabs with color through the full body.
  • Nonporous and nonabsorbent, so spills do not become stains.
  • Never needs sealing, reconditioning or polishing. NSF-51 certified food safe.
  • Cambria’s coverage is transferable: it passes to anyone who buys the home.

Sink

Elkay quartz sink

  • Hard natural quartz sand particles bound in UV-stable acrylic resins.
  • A nonporous surface.
  • Elkay warrants it to the original purchaser against manufacturing defects for a lifetime of normal residential use.

Faucet

Delta Essa faucet

  • A ceramic disc valve.
  • ADA compliant.
  • Listed to ASME A112.18.1 and ANSI A117.1.
  • 1.8 gpm at 60 psi.

Floor

Johnson Alehouse engineered oak

  • Craftsmen bevel the edges, fill checks and wire brush each plank by hand, then apply a multi-layer hand stain.
  • A 2.0 mm wear layer over a birch, poplar or eucalyptus core, 1/2 in. overall.
  • Finish of aluminum oxide particles in a polyurethane set by UV light.
  • CARB Phase 2 compliant.

What makes a surface last is inside it, where you will never look.

“Dan K. helped me pick out the perfect materials, then the skilled artisans performed and VOILA!! I’m a happy woman.”
